Vorige week zijn Meneer en ik naar Mykonos geweest. We verbleven in het Belvedere Hotel ( belvederehotel.com). En dat zou iedereen moeten doen als ze naar Mykonos gaan. Het hotel is hip and happening, maar toch kleinschalig met een geweldige service. Ook heel fijn is dat de bekende Nobu Matsuhisha een restaurant heeft in dit hotel. Belvedère ligt in Chora, ook wel Mykonos-stad genoemd, en binnen enkele minuten dwaal je door de prachtige witte steegjes met blauwe luiken. Louis vuitton heeft hier tot oktober haar pop-up store , maar ook merken als Chanel, Celine, Lanvin en Hermes vind je overal. Een bijzonder winkel vond ik Parthenis van de 34 jarige griekse mode ontwerpster Orsalia Parthenis ( orsalia-parthenis.gr). Alle ontwerpen zijn van zachte stoffen en hebben maar 1 maat.

Ik heb me laten vertellen dat Orsalia vaak op Mykonos is en er zelfs een huis heeft. Één van haar favoriete restaurants is Kiki's, een taverne zonder bord of telefoonnummer. Het ligt in het wat stillere noorden van Mykonos en heeft een rustig klein strandje aan het eind van de steile berg.
Kiki's is een geweldig simpel en heerlijk restaurant, waar je de heerlijkste salades krijgt en waar de kok op het terras boven open vuur heerlijk gemarineerde stukken vlees, kip en vis staat te grillen.

Last week Mister and I went on vacation to Mykonos. We've stayed in the Belvedere Hotel (  belvedere hotel.com ). And that is what everybody else should do when they visit Mykonos. The hotel is hip and happening, with a great service! In the hotel you'll find a restaurant of the famous Nobu Matsuhisha. Belvedere is in Chora, also known as Mykonos-city and within a few minutes you'll wander through lovely narrow white streets with their blue shutters. Louis Vuitton has his pop-up store until october, but you'll also find Chanel, Celine, Lanvin and Hermes in beautiful shops. A special find is the shop of Parthenis ( orsalia-parthenis.gr ). All designs are soft and one size!

Someone told me that Orsalia loves Mykonos and owns a house there. One of her favored restaurants is Kiki's, a tavern without a sign or telephone number. It 's in the north of Mykonos and has a fabulous little beach at the end of the steep hill.

Kiki's is a great simple restaurant, with delicious salads on the menu and where the chef grills terrific marinated fish, meat or chicken over open fire. 

Lucky Scent

Het is als een ochtendbries op een lentedag deze Lait Frais van Diptyque.

Isabel's Milwauke boot by Zara

In april schreef ik al over die te mooie cowboy laarsjes van Isabel Marant die we allemaal willen. En de mensen van Zara dachten daar hetzelfde over!
Nu er in elke stad in elke winkel de Isabel Marant Bekket replica-sneakers liggen is de lol daar nu wel van af.

We willen Isabel's Milwauke boots! 

Het liefst de echte, maar omdat ik bang ben dat over een half jaar iedereen er mee loopt, heb ik gekozen voor de laarsjes van Zara. Doet ook minder pijn als ik ze straks weer terug in de kast moet zetten omdat Primark ze ook verkoopt! 


In april I wrote about the amazing Isabel Marant's cowboy boots which we all want. And Zara was thinking the same!
Because the Isabel Marant Bekket replica-sneakers are to be found in every city in every store, we don't want them anymore.

Of course we want the real deal, but because I'm afraid that in half a year everybody will wear them, I chose to buy the Zara boots. It will also hurt less when I have to put them back in my closet because there on sale at Primark!

Easy-peasy korean beef

Soms is het een sombere herfstmiddag. Soms heb ik geen zin om te koken. Soms heb ik zin in comfortfood. Soms heb ik zin om Meneer te verrassen. Soms willen de kinderen lekker eten. Soms heb ik daar het perfecte recept voor!

Bak 1 kg. gehakt met 4 fijngesneden knoflookteentjes en 1 á 2 fijngesneden gedroogde pepertjes rul in twee eetlepels sesamolie.
Dan 100 ml soyasaus, 3 volle bolle eetlepels donkerbruine basterdsuiker en een duimpje geraspte verse gember erbij. Beetje zout en peper erover.
Laat dit een paar minuten pruttelen en snijdt ondertussen een bundel bosuitjes fijn. De rijst heb je dan al in de rijstkoker klaar staan!
Rijst in een kommetje, beef met wat sappige saus erop, bosuitjes erover en iedereen vindt dat de Godin goddelijk gekookt heeft. Easy-peasy hè?



Sometimes it's a gloomy autumn afternoon. Sometimes I don't feel like cooking. Sometimes I need some comfortfood. Sometimes I want to surprise Mister Goddess. Sometimes the kids want to eat something really good. Sometimes I have the perfect recipe!

Brown 1 kg. of minced meat with 4 cloves of minced garlic and 1 or 2 crushed red peppers in 2 tablespoons sesame oil.
Add 100 ml. soy sauce, 3 heaped tablespoons of brown sugar, a thumb of grated fresh ginger and some salt and pepper. Dice a bunch of spring onions.
Simmer for a few minutes to blend the flavors.
Serve over steamed rice, top with the diced spring onions and everybody will think that the Goddess cooked divine. Easy-peasy right?
